How We Test Our Tools
Our standard
Every tool published on YTToolsHub has to pass the same three-stage check before it goes live, and the results for the current version of the site are published on this page. The standard exists because of a lesson from our sister site: a tool that passes a developer's logic tests can still fail a real user on a real phone if its data source is dead — so nothing here is called "tested" on logic alone.
Stage 1 — Logic tests with real cases
Each tool's core function is run against at least three real-world cases with known correct answers. Examples from the current build: the Outlier Finder must score a video with 250,000 views on a channel with a 40,000-view median as exactly 6.3x and label it a strong outlier; the Money Calculator must turn 10,000 daily views at an $8 RPM into $80 per day, $2,400 per month and $29,200 per year; the Tag Generator must never produce a set over YouTube's 500-character limit. The current build passes 41 of 41 such cases.
Stage 2 — Live data tests
Tools that fetch data are tested against live services with real channels and videos, not fixtures: trending and search results from the public data mirrors, a real channel scan, a real video comparison, a real thumbnail download and a real image generation. The current build passes 8 of 8 live checks. If a free third-party service a tool depends on goes down permanently, the tool is fixed or removed — never left on the site broken.
Stage 3 — Whole-site integrity
Before any release is packaged, an automated pass checks every page for broken internal links, duplicate titles, duplicate meta descriptions and thin content, and verifies that every tool's form is wired to working code. The current release: 0 broken links, 0 duplicates, 0 thin pages. Found a failure we missed? The contact page is the fastest route to a fix, and tool bugs are treated as the site's highest-priority work.
